I was totally surprised this week to see lavender blossoms peeking through the hydrangea clump by the patio. I hadn’t realized a Rose of Sharon had taken root and was now almost 4 feet tall, big enough to bloom.
I’ve written about how much I enjoy the lovely Rose of Sharon. Not only are its blooms beautiful, they also attract scores of bees and butterflies. It’s not in a good place, but I’ll leave it alone because with a long tap root, they’re very hard to successfully transplant once they get established. I’ll just keep it pruned and enjoy what nature provided!
