Even though it's still in the 90's here in Georgia, there are signs that fall isn't far away. Today I saw Beautyberries ripening and there’s a bumper crop! With plenty of rain this summer, the beautyberry bushes have really grown and are heavy with berries.
That’s great news for the birds. They love the vivid magenta fruit and always strip the bushes in record time. One day there’ll be masses of berries and a short time later, only green leaves.
Lots of plants have names that don’t have any relation to their appearance, but that’s not true of Beautyberries. Their name says it all!!
